From Progress to Advocacy: Marking World Sickle Cell Day

In June's President's Message, Dr. Corey Cutler, MD, MPH, highlights the importance of World Sickle Cell Day and the progress made in treating the disease through cell therapies, emphasizing the commitment to equitable access for minority populations. He announces the ACCESS Workshop, in collaboration with the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), scheduled for July 23-24 in Washington D.C., aimed at addressing disparities in cell transplant access and outcomes. The workshop includes a mini Hill Day event for discussions with legislators, while the society's advocacy continues with a larger Hill Day on September 9-10. He encourages advocacy participation, reflecting on the society's accomplishments in advancing transplant and cellular therapy.
