About the Course
Th Leadership Course is a year-long program to develop the next generation of leaders in hematopoietic cell transplantation, cellular and gene therapy. ASTCT will select 15 participants will receive personalized coaching and career advice from experts in the field. Open to physicians and non-physicians in leadership roles, this program covers tuition, travel and accommodation, concluding with a Leadership Course alumni reception at the 2026 Tandem Meetings.
Who Should Attend
Applicants must be current, active members of ASTCT. This course is open to all disciplines, including nurses, advanced practice providers, administrators, MDs, etc.
- Physicians: 5 – 12 years out from completion of fellowship training
- Non-physicians/BMT Program administrators: 2 – 5 years from appointment in leadership position at BMT Program
Objectives and Curriculum
The course is designed to provide a highly interactive experience for future leaders in hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy. Topics covered will range from leadership characteristics, problem solving, research enterprise, managing teams, difficult conversations, advocacy, reimbursement, program accreditation, outcomes reporting and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact and network with invited faculty who are experienced leaders in the field.
Eligibility
Applicants may or may not be serving as BMT/cell therapy Program directors at their institutions. The program is geared towards individuals who are relatively early in their leadership role or anticipate taking on a program director role in the future.
All applicants must submit the following information in order to be considered:
- Application survey
- Curriculum vitae
- Statement of interest
- Letter of recommendation from a BMT Program or Department Chair or from a senior member of participant’s institution
