New Year, New Congress
On Friday, January 3, 2025, the new 119th Congress convened on Capitol Hill, with a shift in power where Republicans are taking control of both the House and Senate with President-elect Donald Trump being sworn in on January 20. Even with the shift in power, there is a very narrow margin with many members leaving for positions in the Administration. Both chambers are currently in the process of electing leadership roles and approving their rules and committee assignments, respectively. As the new year and new Congress kicks off, we will be tracking the latest in legislative and regulatory changes. ASTCT will continue to advocate for patient’s access to care, innovation in the field, and support for research funding. All of our legislative and regulatory activity can be tracked here.
